Mash up

I've never pride myself of being in the forefront of culture, so I've only heard of the latest craze in music called mash-up when Wired game the album of the year to the Grey Album, probably the best known mash up piece.

For those of you wondering what it is, it's basically taking two or more piece of music, more diverse the better (i.e. Beatles and Jay-Z), and then slice the music into each other into something new. A better explanation is provided by Salon here.

My fav so far is called Revolved (a mashup of Beatles Revolver and a diverse list of other pieces, from Benny Goodman to Madonna). All these pieces are free mp3 downloads (some ask for donation), I am now enjoying these on my iPod.
